TRAINING
In the current context, the world and regional situation in the present period and the coming years is expected to witness complex and unpredictable developments. The trends of globalization, international integration, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution are creating tremendous opportunities while also posing new challenges to the task of safeguarding the Fatherland. Non-traditional security issues are increasingly emerging, directly affecting the requirements for strengthening the all-people national defense and the people’s security posture. Domestically, the process of industrialization, modernization, national digital transformation, and the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the period 2021–2030 with a vision to 2045 require a workforce with strong political steadfastness, high professional competence, and profound awareness of national defense and security (ND&S). Therefore, national defense and security education (NDSE) in higher education institutions plays a particularly important role in shaping citizens’ competencies and qualities to meet the requirements of safeguarding the Fatherland in the new situation.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) is a leading national center for education, scientific research, and knowledge transfer, playing a core and pioneering role in Vietnam’s higher education system. With its position as a multidisciplinary and multi-field university, VNU not only contributes to providing high-quality human resources but also leads innovation, international integration, and sustainable national development.
VNU National Defense and Security Education Center is a training unit under VNU, responsible for providing NDSE for VNU students and other higher education institutions as assigned by the Ministry of National Defense. Over the years, the Center has made significant contributions to improving and standardizing NDSE activities, ensuring that 100% of students participate in centralized accommodation, study, and training in accordance with the framework curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.
