Establishing VNU Technology and Innovation Park to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW

To implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as to fulfill its mission, vision, and development strategy in the coming period, VNU established the VNU Technology and Innovation Park to consolidate resources to enhance international cooperation, foster partnerships with domestic and international businesses, and invest in the development of prioritized research areas.

VNU Technology and Innovation Park aims to incubate science and technology enterprises and support startups, prioritizing the development of such fields as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, environmental technology, and advanced materials. The park is a complex consisting of several affiliated research units, and support and service centres, namely VNU Institute of Information Technology, VNU Institute of Natural Resources and Environment Sciences, VNU Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology, VNU Centre for Enabling Startups and Knowledge Transfer, and VNU Human Resource Development Centre.

VNU Technology and Innovation Park will utilize a modern, smart, and integrated facility complex within VNU Town in Hoa Lac, including the Interdisciplinary research institute covering nearly 23 hectares. Additionally, a high-level research complex under the World Bank-funded project is to be built with over 100,000 square metres of floor space, synchronized infrastructure and digital facilities to meet the park's requirements.

VNU President La Quan stated that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has provided direction and solutions for implementing Vietnam’s new production model in the modern era, which is based on science, technology, and innovation in conjunction with digital transformation. The shift in production methods not only impacts scientists, organizations, managers, and businesses but also affects society as a whole. Therefore, scientists and research institutes within the higher education system will play a key role in implementing the Resolution. The national innovation ecosystem will be closely and organically linked with the higher education ecosystem.
