International conference drivers for Vietnam's economic growth in new era

Vietnam is entering its New Era, an era of national advancement with the aspiration to become a developed, high-income country by the mid-21st century. The Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam clearly defines the goals for Vietnam to become a developing country with modern industry and high-middle income by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045. To achieve these strategic goals, Vietnam needs to promote rapid and sustainable economic growth, aiming for a double-digit growth rate in the medium and long term.

However, the path to development presents a series of new challenges. In the context of globalization, strategic competition, and the shift in global value chains, Vietnam must radically reform its growth model, and even establish a new one based on science, technology, and innovation. This includes leveraging new drivers such as digital transformation, green transition, the knowledge economy, innovation, and enhanced labor productivity. Simultaneously, Vietnam must also confront and address growing development challenges like population aging, climate change, social security, and the urgent need to perfect comprehensive, modern, and inclusive development institutions.

In this context, identifying the drivers for growth and the barriers to development is crucial for policymaking and for creating development breakthroughs in the nation's new era. As part of the International Conference on Vietnamese Studies, co-organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the VNU University of Economics and Business and the Institute of Vietnam and World

Economy are jointly organizing a specialized workshop on "Drivers for Vietnam's Economic Growth in the New Era." This event aims to provide practical contributions to the process of theoretical research and practical review in preparation for the documents of the 14th Party Congress. The Organizing Committee cordially invites interested scientists, researchers, and scholars to submit papers for the conference.
