The participation of VNU President Hoang Minh Son and the VNU delegation in EducAItion 2026 at the invitation of Israel’s Ministry of Education not only reflects international recognition of VNU’s role, standing, and academic capacity, but also affirms the proactive and forward-looking approach of Vietnam’s leading higher education institution in engaging in global dialogue on the core issues of higher education in the digital era.
Within the framework of EducAItion 2026, VNU President Hoang Minh Son took part in high-level policy dialogue sessions alongside Ministers of Education, university leaders, and policymakers from many countries, focusing on key challenges and opportunities facing higher education in the era of AI. The discussions centered around the development of personalized education policies, responsible AI governance, the safeguarding of academic integrity, bridging the digital divide, and enhancing the leadership role of national universities within innovation ecosystems.
During the discussions, he shared VNU’s perspective on a balanced approach between innovation and governance, emphasizing that AI should be integrated into higher education as a strategic infrastructure to enhance training quality, research capacity, and learners’ adaptability, while being embedded within a clear, human-centered policy framework. He underscored that national universities should not only be beneficiaries of policy, but also act as policy architects through evidence-based research, pilot models, and strategic advisory support to the State.
Beyond its role in policy dialogue, VNU made a strong academic impression at EducAItion 2026 through two in-depth presentations by leading scholars. Assoc.Prof.Dr Nghiem Xuan Huy, Director of VNU Institute of Digital Education and Testing, presented the paper “The Enthusiasm-Anxiety Paradox: Building a Human-Centered Architecture of Trust for AI in Higher Education”; and Prof.Dr. Chu Duc Trinh, Rector of VNU University of Engineering and Technology, delivered the presentation “Vietnam’s National Standard for Talent-oriented STEM Programs as a Human-centered Educational Architecture” at EducAItion 2026.
Prior to the conference, VNU President Hoang Minh Son and the VNU delegation also held important working meetings with Israel’s Minister of Education, Yoav Kisch, during which the two sides exchanged views on educational development strategies in the context of artificial intelligence, experiences in formulating personalized education policies, and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in training, research, and innovation.
During his working visit to Israel, VNU President Hoang Minh Son and the VNU delegation also paid visits to and held working sessions with Technion and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with a view to strengthening cooperation in education, scientific research, and innovation.
The working visit of the VNU delegation led by VNU President Hoang Minh Son to Israel holds practical significance in implementing the Party’s major resolutions and policy orientations on the development of education and training, science and technology, and innovation. By expanding cooperation with Israel’s leading educational and research institutions and strengthening links with the international innovation ecosystem, VNU continues to affirm its role as a core center of excellence in education and research in Vietnam, contributing to the enhancement of human resource quality, the promotion of application-oriented research and knowledge transfer, and the direct support of the country’s industrialization and modernization efforts.
