The past year marked another significant milestone in VNU’s international relations, cooperation and development. In addition to actively participating in diplomatic activities alongside the Party, State, and Government leaders both domestically and abroad, VNU proactively implemented numerous specific, practical, and effective cooperation programs. These activities contributed to realizing the Party and Government’s policies on international integration, outbound communication and cultural diplomacy, particularly the implementation of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in education and training, and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

During the year, VNU and its member units signed or renewed nearly 80 cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding with both domestic and international partners; at the VNU level alone, there were 26 agreements with international partners and 14 with domestic partners. Many of these agreements were promptly translated into diverse cooperation programs covering training, scientific research, staff and student exchanges, scholarships, and infrastructure investment, attracting over VND 29 billion from domestic and international partners.
VNU organized more than 300 bilateral and multilateral meetings, both in-person and online; met and worked with representatives from diplomatic missions, international organizations, enterprises, and higher education institutions at home and abroad. These activities helped expand VNU’s partnership network, promote collaboration in training, research, and technology transfer, enhance capacity, and mobilize resources for sustainable development.

Several significant international cooperation programs and events were successfully organized. Notable examples include: coordinating with the Wallonie–Bruxelles Delegation and Belgian universities to host a high-level delegation from Belgium, organizing a series of academic workshops, and signing six cooperation agreements (in April 2025); working with the Chinese Government Scholarship Committee and Chinese universities to host the China Higher Education Exhibition and the Vietnam-China Higher Education Forum on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (in June 2025); and organizing major academic events with the participation of prominent international scholars such as Prof. Justin Yifu Lin and Prof. Jonathan Wolff.
In multilateral cooperation, VNU continued to affirm its central role and international prestige by actively participating and holding key positions in numerous reputable international networks and organizations, including AUF, AUN, UMAP, ASCC, SATU, and alliances in artificial intelligence, digital education, MOOCs, and the semiconductor industry. In addition, VNU proactively proposed initiatives and implemented new cooperation programs, thereby reinforcing its national role and enhancing its international standing amid deepening global integration.
