Asian Institute of Technology was established in Bangkok in 1959. With the aim of improving technological change and sustainable development in Asia - Pacific region through higher education and research, Asian Institute of Technology is a leading postgraduate training institute in the region and actively coordinate with state partners and enterprises in the region.
The Institute has 2,300 students from over 50 countries and territories attended 32 different disciplines. The Institute has over 100 researchers and 500 supporting staff from 30 countries. In 2006, the Institute was awarded the Friendship Order in the field of international relations that the Institute has contributed to the training human resources for Vietnam as well as the development of friendship relations between Vietnam and other countries.
