+ Purpose of the research: Based on studying the transmission and inheritance, basic content and the current situation of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam, the thesis points out the characteristics and movement trends of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam and give the author's observations on the main movement trend. On that basis, some solutions and recommendations are proposed to promote the value of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam.

+ Research methods: The thesis uses interdisciplinary scientific research methods of religion and other sciences, specifically: analysis and synthesis method, historical method, Sociology of religion, logical method, …

- The thesis systematically clarifies the history of the tradition of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam in different aspects.

- The thesis has pointed out the current situations of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam in some basic aspects: ideology, practice policy, establishment of worship, religious practice, organization of Mountain pagoda and religious beliefs.

- The thesis has pointed out some basic characteristics and movement trends of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam in the current period and identified the main movement trends.

- The thesis has proposed some solutions and recommendations to inherit and promote the value of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam in the current period.

- These research results contribute to the theoretical research system of Buddhism in general and the history of Buddhism in Vietnam in particular. The forecasts, recommendations and solutions that the thesis proposes can be applied to the work of transmiting, inheriting and promoting the value of the Caodong school in the North of Vietnam.
