In the past year, VNU continued to promote a modern university governance model, mobilizing and utilizing resources effectively, and strengthening its leading role within the higher education system, thereby ushering in a period of strong transformation and deep international integration.
By thoroughly grasping and decisively implementing the Central Party Committee’s 2017 Resolutions, VNU has urgently renewed and reorganized its organizational structure toward reducing intermediary units, streamlining operations, and enhancing governance quality and operational efficiency. The organizational restructuring has focused on the goals of high-quality training and in-depth development, strengthening scientific research capacity, innovation, and international integration, while gradually shaping an innovation and startup support ecosystem.

At the same time, VNU has continued to reform and improve its organizational apparatus and university autonomy mechanisms at both VNU and affiliated unit levels. The focus has been on building enabling mechanisms that promote the development of revenues from services, while strengthening the coordination and effective allocation of resources to support sustainable development of all units.
Alongside the renewal of its governance model, VNU has issued policies to attract, retain, and develop outstanding experts and scientists from both domestic and international communities, fostering an open and creative academic environment and working toward the formation of an elite intellectual workforce to lead key research fields. The appointment of internationally reputable scholars to academic leadership positions further affirmed VNU’s strategic vision and strong commitment to building an interdisciplinary and internationally integrated research environment.
These comprehensive reforms in institutional frameworks, organizational structure, and development strategies in 2025 clearly demonstrate VNU’s determination on its path toward autonomy and international integration, making practical contributions to the development of science and technology as well as higher education in Vietnam in the new era.

Building on these achievements, VNU will continue to advance organizational reform in close alignment with national development strategies and international best practices. Priority will be given to further clarifying functions and responsibilities, enhancing accountability, and accelerating digital transformation in governance and administration. Through continuous monitoring, evaluation, and timely policy adjustments, VNU aims to ensure that its streamlined structure remains flexible, adaptive, and resilient, thereby enabling the University to respond effectively to emerging challenges and opportunities while sustaining its role as a leading hub for innovation, high-quality education, and scientific excellence in the region and beyond.
