On March 6, 2026, VNU School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (VNU-SIS) signed a cooperation agreement with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to promote training, research, and human resource development in the field of culture and creativity, thereby contributing to harnessing and enhancing the cultural potential and values of the capital city.

The event marks an important step in strengthening the linkage between higher education institutions and state management agencies in the cultural sector. Through this cooperation agreement, the two sides will coordinate the implementation of training programs, research activities, and policy consultancy, aiming to develop high-quality human resources to support Hanoi’s cultural industry development strategy.
According to the agreement, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in several areas, including training and capacity building for cultural and artistic human resources; organizing research activities and academic conferences; implementing creative projects as well as initiatives for the preservation and promotion of heritage values; and promoting internship and experiential learning programs for students within the city’s cultural management and cultural activity environment.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Pham Tuan Long, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized that as the capital city is implementing numerous strategies and programs to develop cultural industries, strengthening cooperation with reputable education and research institutions has become an urgent requirement. VNU with its multidisciplinary research ecosystem, highly qualified scientific workforce, and experience in implementing many advanced training programs, can play an important role in providing knowledge, solutions, and human resources for the city’s cultural and creative sector.
Representing the VNU School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Rector Nguyen Van Hieu affirmed that the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports marks an important step toward realizing the university’s orientation of developing interdisciplinary education and research closely connected with practical needs.
The university is committed to mobilizing its faculty members, scientists, and experts in the fields of culture, arts, creative design, communication, and cultural management to participate in research, policy consultancy, and the implementation of cooperative programs with the city.
Both sides agreed to maintain a regular coordination mechanism and gradually implement specific collaborative activities in areas such as training, research, policy consultancy, and the development of cultural and creative products.
The signing ceremony is expected to open up broader opportunities for in-depth cooperation between the university and the state management agency, thereby promoting the intellectual resources of higher education institutions in accompanying Hanoi in cultural development and building the capital city’s creative ecosystem.
