On January 16, 2026, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) held the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the International Competition for the 1/500 Master Plan and Architectural Design of Landscape and Building Complexes at Hoa Lac. The event marked an important milestone in UEB’s strategy to develop its new training and research campus in line with the vision of building an elite, modern, and sustainable university.
The competition attracted numerous prestigious architectural and planning consultancies from Vietnam and abroad, together with a Jury composed of leading experts in the fields of urban planning and architecture. The submitted proposals offered solutions for organizing a green, smart, and internationally oriented university campus, harmoniously integrating education, research, innovation, and sustainable development.
On this occasion, the leadership of UEB presented flowers in appreciation and expressed sincere thanks to the representatives of IMG Investment Joint Stock Company, especially Mr. Le Tu Minh—an alumnus of UEB and the competition’s sponsor—for his continued, dedicated, and responsible support alongside UEB throughout the organization and implementation of the International Competition for the 1/500 Master Plan and Architectural Design at Hoa Lac, as well as in the University’s long-term development activities.

Following the evaluation process, the Jury selected joint ventures awarded the First Prize, Second Prize, and Third Prize, while also recognizing and providing support to teams advancing to Round 2 in appreciation of their professionalism, dedication, and commitment.

Implementation Phase
Within the framework of the ceremony, UEB assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Planning Information Center to work alongside the First Prize–winning joint venture during the preparation of the detailed 1/500 master plan, with continued sponsorship and professional support from IMG Investment Joint Stock Company, ensuring feasibility, efficiency, and high-quality implementation.
Beyond the scope of a design competition, the event laid an important foundation for translating planning ideas into concrete implementation directions, paving the way for the development of a modern, sustainable, and distinctive university campus at Hoa Lac, meeting the demands of development in the new phase.
