On March 3, 2026, VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) held a working session with a delegation from HSE University – St. Petersburg to discuss strategic directions for cooperation in education, scientific research, and academic exchange. The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening the partnership between the two institutions and promoting deeper academic collaboration between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

During the discussions, representatives of both universities exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation for the coming years. A key focus will be the implementation of short-term training programs lasting from two to four weeks, designed for students, entrepreneurs, and managers. These programs will address highly relevant topics such as entrepreneurship and innovation, artificial intelligence in management and decision-making, financial technology (fintech), digital transformation skills, and urban economics. By combining academic expertise with practical insights, the two institutions aim to provide learners with updated knowledge and applicable competencies in a rapidly changing global environment.
In addition, the two sides agreed to organize international study tours for students. These programs will allow participants to study and experience academic life in both Vietnam and the Russian Federation, thereby enhancing cross-cultural understanding and expanding international exposure. Through academic visits, joint seminars, and cultural exchange activities, students will have valuable opportunities to broaden their perspectives and build global networks.
Research collaboration was also identified as a central pillar of the partnership. The two universities committed to promoting joint research projects and increasing international publications. By connecting strong research groups from both sides, they seek to develop collaborative research initiatives with high academic impact, particularly in fields aligned with economic development, digital transformation, and sustainable urban growth.

Faculty exchange and the co-organization of academic seminars will further contribute to strengthening the international academic environment at both institutions. Regular exchanges of scholars are expected to foster knowledge sharing, stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue, and enhance the quality of teaching and research.
The two parties also agreed to establish an annual student exchange program, with an estimated participation of five to ten students from each institution per year. At the same time, efforts will be made to expand access to scholarship opportunities at HSE University – St. Petersburg, including scholarships funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Following the meeting, the HSE delegation toured the facilities of VNU-UEB and visited the campus of Vietnam National University, Hanoi to gain deeper insights into its multidisciplinary education and research ecosystem.
The strengthened cooperation between VNU-UEB and HSE University – St. Petersburg is expected to further advance the internationalization of higher education, expand joint research activities, and create more meaningful academic and professional opportunities for faculty members and students in the years ahead.
