On May 26, the Vietnam Japan University (VJU) welcomed a delegation of faculty members and doctoral students from the PhD in Educational Leadership and Management (PHDEL) program under the International Educational Internship Program organized by the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC).
The delegation included nearly 80 lecturers, doctoral students, and university administrators from UIC – a higher education institution with more than 120 years of history and a member of the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) network since 2023. The visit reflected UIC’s strong interest in expanding academic exchange and international cooperation with universities in the region.

The reception and campus tour were coordinated by first-year students from VJU’s Bachelor’s Program in Global Development and Innovation (BGDI). Through their active support and professional communication skills, the students left a positive impression on the visiting delegation from the Philippines.
Although the visit took place during one of Hanoi’s peak heatwave days, the hot weather did not diminish the enthusiasm of the delegates as they explored VJU’s learning environment and toured the Hoa Lac campus. The guests were introduced to VJU’s educational philosophy, interdisciplinary training model, and long-term development orientation toward becoming a research-oriented university with strong international integration.
During the working session, both sides exchanged views on a wide range of topics related to higher education management and academic development. Discussions focused on the integration of Vietnamese and Japanese educational cultures at VJU, mechanisms for collaboration with international visiting lecturers and researchers, university governance models, and strategies to enhance educational quality in an increasingly globalized environment.

The UIC delegation expressed particular interest in VJU students’ English communication abilities and highly appreciated the university’s foreign language learning approaches, student support services, opportunities for self-directed career development, and the encouragement of student participation in scientific research and international publications.
The visit not only created opportunities for academic and cultural exchange among higher education institutions in Asia, but also contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and opening up future collaboration opportunities between VJU and educational partners in the Philippines.
