VNU University of Engineering and Technology and Samsung Vietnam: Continuing their partnership to nurture technology talent for the digital era

Following a successful partnership in education, research, and the development of high-quality technology talent, VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) and Samsung Vietnam signed a new cooperation agreement on June 4, 2026. The agreement expands scholarship programs, postgraduate training opportunities, and research collaboration in strategic technology fields.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Chu Duc Trinh, VNU-UET Rector expressed his gratitude to VNU for its continuous support and close collaboration with the University throughout its development and in fostering partnerships with industry. He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the long-standing support of Samsung Vietnam and Samsung Group through various initiatives in education, scientific research, scholarships, internships, and the development of high-quality technology talent.

According to Prof. Chu Duc Trinh, as the Fourth Industrial Revolution continues to accelerate, fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, multimedia, cybersecurity, and other strategic technologies are becoming key drivers of economic growth and national competitiveness. Therefore, strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and leading technology enterprises is essential to cultivating highly skilled talent, advancing applied research, and promoting technology transfer for national development.

According to Mr. Na Ki Hong - General Director of Samsung Vietnam, since the launch of the Samsung Talent Scholarship Program in 2014, Samsung Vietnam and the VNU-UET have built a strong and enduring partnership that goes beyond conventional educational support, evolving into a collaborative relationship dedicated to developing technology talent. Many graduates from the University are now key engineers who make significant contributions to Samsung’s research and development activities and help strengthen the company’s global competitiveness.

Describing the newly signed cooperation agreement as an important milestone, the General Director of Samsung Vietnam noted that it not only reflects the trust and close collaboration established between the two parties but also marks the beginning of a new phase of partnership aimed at preparing a highly qualified workforce for the future.

Mr. Na Ki Hong emphasized that Samsung is committed to a strategy of developing world-class technology talent and regards Vietnam as a key partner in its long-term growth strategy. Beyond maintaining its position as one of the leading investors and exporters in Vietnam, Samsung aspires to be a long-term partner in the education, nurturing, and development of the country’s technology workforce. In this regard, its collaboration with VNU and VNU-UET plays a pivotal role.
