11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- The thesis not only contributes to systematizing and updating a number of theoretical issues related to adaptation, but also designed theoretical frameworks and measuring tools to adapt to the community reintegration of the PWCTIS.
Compared with the theory of adaptation to community reintegration of PWCTIS stated in Chapter 2 of the thesis, the obtained field data have reflected on aspects such as: The level of adaptation to community reintegration of PWCTIS is lower compared to the hypothesis that most PWCTIS have low adaptive capacity to community reintegration. The research result shows that there are improvements in all areas: family, community, work on all 3 aspects: perception, emotion, behavior at 2 different periods "just released from prison" and "current state". In each area of adaptation, the level of adaptation to family is highest, followed by work adaptation, and finally, adaptation to society is more complex than the lowest.
- Research results also show that adaptation to community reintegration of PWCTIS is related to demographic variables such as education and occupation and standard of family living; Time for serving the sentence and classification of crimes; PWCTIS's adaptation to community reintegration has relationship with difficult responses to difficult situations. Age was not related to PWCTIS's adaptation to community reintegration. PWCTIS's adaptation to community reintegration has relationship with difficult responses to difficult situations. There is a correlation between the negative factors from the living environment and PWCTIS to the level of adaptation to community reintegration of PWCTIS. The results show that the stronger the negative factors from individuals and environment impacting the PWCTIS, the lower their level of adaptation to community reintegration, and vice versa.
