11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- The thesis "The appearance of prose which writes about the topic of homosexuality in Vietnam from the beginning of 20th century to the present time” has synthesized and introduced systematically, in particular the concepts and related theories such as homosexuality, LGBTQ, queer theory, homosexual feminist criticism theory ...
- The thesis has outlined the history of composition on homosexual topics in world and Vietnamese literary as well as giving an overview of research works on homosexuality in Vietnamese literature.
- The thesis identifies and clarifies the development process of modern Vietnamese prose which has written about homosexuality through two stages (before and after the Innovation period 1986) with approaches, trends, characteristics and typical phenomena.
- The thesis is a serious study of the actual reception homosexual prose and proposing how to deal with homosexual literary in the school nowadays.
12. Practical applicability, if any:
- Provide a practical orientations for the reception, discrimination and dealing with literary works on gay topics in the current context.
- The thesis also has a certain practical value in assessing homosexual issues in terms of sociology, anthropology and culture, thereby participating in changing some ways of recognizing and managing culture and communes.
