With the aim of developing affiliated members of Vietnam National University, Hanoi towards a higher autonomy to foster research, training and innovation; on December 1, 2021, VNU President has signed the Decision No. 3868 to approve the International School with a higher autonomy and greater training capacity. Over 20 years of establishment and development, International School has maintained its core values of “High Quality, Creativity, Pioneer, Responsibility and International Integration”. The institution is proud to be a training unit with its own identity and value among VNU affiliated members - a place connecting and attracting highly qualified experts, scientists, and outstanding students to study and research - thereby creating positive values to society and the community.
Entering a new period of expansion and sustainable development coupled with many opportunities and challenges, in celebration of its 20th anniversary of the Traditional Day, International School has designed a new logo and brand identity to affirm its originality, at the same time creating a different and unique mark of the institution both in Vietnam and abroad.

The new VNU-IS logo embodies a message of commitment from a prestigious brand in terms of education, research, knowledge transfer and high-quality human resources training which significantly contribute to the development of Vietnam.
The new logo and brand identity are both modern and dynamic, conveying the core values of the institution’s training and research. VNU-IS logo uses a shield which symbolizes solid protection, alongside an open book which represents knowledge. The design of an open book is also an essential detail in the logo of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the governing body of International School. Hence, this design indicates VNU-IS as an affiliated member of VNU.
The highlight of the logo is the stylized “IS” letter - the symbol which associates with the establishment and development of International School. The continued use of the “IS” letter is the highlight of the new logo, reflecting the development stage of the International School that is built upon its achievements and successes since the inception. The letter IS stands out on the stylized motifs of 03 horizontal yellow lines and vertical gray lines showing a solid foundation for development. The image surrounding the shield icon is soft textures that supplement elegance to the main image. This also implies an additional protective cover which creates further solidity, reliability and sustainability of the institution’s brand. The upper left corner is the word “VNU-IS” in white capitalized, which is the abbreviation in English of International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The full name of the institution is located to the right of the logo, with the top line in dark blue being the name of the governing body (VNU) in capital letters (DAI HOC QUOC GIA HA NOI), the bottom is the name of the institution in capital letters in both Vietnamese (TRUONG QUOC TE) and English (VNU – INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL).
The new logo and brand identity are self-affirmation which establishes a distinction in the brand of International School. This marks a significant milestone in the institution’s transition to a new development stage, bringing VNU-IS’s image closer to the public and contributing to its proud 20-year journey of development. In the coming months, the staff, lecturers, and students of International School will together “nurture and spread” the new brand identity to the whole society, thereby continuing to elevate the institution’s reputation, along with the trust from its students and their parents.
