VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Kitahara Group to collaborate in developing paramedic resources

On June 26, 2024, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son delivered a speech at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Kitahara Group (including KNI Medical Group and Kitahara Medical Strategies International Co., Ltd.), Japan. Accordingly, the two sides will develop technical cooperation on paramedic training programs at VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Prof. People’s Doctor Le Ngoc Thanh said that in its development strategy, VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy focused on building and consolidating strategic, comprehensive and long-term international cooperation relationships, contributing to improving the human resources quality as well as resources to serve community health care. He believed that the signing of the agreement would mark an important beginning for the official cooperation between the two sides and hoped that Kitahara Group would accompany the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in particular and VNU in general in  Health Sciences to bring the best medical services to the community.

VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son emphasized that the cooperation between the two sides took place in a favourable context when the Governments of Vietnam and Japan upgraded their cooperative relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023. VNU is also promoting activities in Health Sciences, focusing on developing a system of hospitals and specialized medical centres. He believed that the cooperation between Kitahara Group and VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy was an important milestone in improving the quality of training as well as medical and health care services at VNU and in Vietnam. VNU is committed to creating favourable conditions for this cooperation to be effectively, substantively and sustainably implemented.

First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Shohei Sasaki said that in the Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam - Japan relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the leaders of the two countries agreed that the bilateral cooperation in many areas, including healthcare, had become increasingly profound and effective. In that context, public-private cooperation in the health sector is expected to develop strongly in the coming times.

Mr. Shohei Sasaki expressed his joy in attending and witnessing the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Kitahara Group and the VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and hoped that through the cooperation, the nurturing and training of a team of medical professionals would be effective, contributing to improving the medical environment in Vietnam.

According to Chairman Kitahara Shigemi, Kitahara Group with specialization in neurosurgery and rehabilitation due to neurological sequelae after surgery or after severe neurological disorders, has successfully implemented a number of rehabilitation projects in developing countries. In Vietnam, the Group's cooperation and support projects always receive attention and support from the Governments of both countries. With professional and project implementation experiences, the Group is ready to cooperate and support in building and providing a training and management system for VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy to implement the paramedic training program as well as carry out other cooperative activities in the health sector.
