Comprehensive and extensive cooperation between VNU and Chinese higher education institutions

On June 13, 2025, the Vietnam-China Education Cooperation Roundtable was held at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU).

The Vietnam-China Education Cooperation Roundtable was held on June 13, 2025, at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), following the successful conclusion of the 2025 China Higher Education Exhibition. The exhibition, jointly organized by VNU and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) on June 12, took place within the framework of ongoing cooperation between VNU and Chinese partners, and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, as well as the 2025 Vietnam–China Year of People-to-People Exchange.

During the roundtable, VNU’s member and affiliated institutions, along with 28 Chinese universities, introduced their institutions and shared information on student exchanges, international training programs, cooperation opportunities, and international collaboration strategies. The conference opened up new prospects for cooperation between higher education institutions not only in the field of education but also in science and technology, innovation, and knowledge transfer in response to the evolving needs of society and enterprises.

Amid global integration, rapid technological advancement, and ongoing transformations across the world, higher education is undergoing profound changes in areas such as university governance, training methods, curriculum updates, and research innovation. In this context, strengthening international cooperation and education internationalization has become a crucial factor for universities to ensure sustainable development and meet the growing demands of the new era.

As Vietnam’s leading university, VNU consistently regards international cooperation in education as one of its core strategies for reforming and enhancing the quality of training and research. This contributes to the development of a high-quality workforce, supports national socio-economic development, and expands global outreach. VNU remains committed to fostering partnerships worldwide, particularly with Chinese institutions, which share many similarities with Vietnam in both higher education and the broader national education system.

At the roundtable, Director of VNU Cooperation and Development Department Le Tuan Anh, provided an overview of VNU and highlighted its potential for collaboration with Chinese partners. He emphasized that VNU’s leadership places great value on its relationship with Chinese institutions and believes that this partnership will play an important role in helping VNU achieve its sustainable development goals.

In recent years, VNU has signed cooperation agreements with dozens of leading Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, and the University of Macau. These partnerships span areas including training, scientific research, technology transfer, and faculty and student exchanges. Such collaborations not only lay the groundwork for joint initiatives but also help deepen educational and training cooperation, in alignment with the broader relationship between Vietnam and China in the current period.
