Launch of the 2025 “I CHOOSE VIETNAM, I CHOOSE VNU” Contest for International Students

Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Vietnam. It envisions becoming a multidisciplinary, research-oriented, and innovative university, distinguished by the quality of its training and research, its international academic environment, cultural diversity, and a dynamic innovation ecosystem.

VNU is increasingly attracting a growing number of international students from diverse countries, creating a vibrant community where students from around the world come together to study, conduct research, exchange ideas, and grow.

Within the framework of the International Student Gathering 2025–2026, the contest “I Choose Vietnam, I Choose VNU” was officially launched. The first season of the contest in 2024 received enthusiastic participation from students of VNU’s member universities and training institutions.

In this year’s contest, each participant will serve as a “communication ambassador,” helping to enhance VNU’s international image. This creative platform not only encourages international students to share their study and life experiences in Vietnam, but also promotes cultural exchange and connection between international and Vietnamese students, while affirming VNU’s strategy of internationalization through modern, innovative, and integrative communication activities.

Contestant: The contest is open to students currently enrolled at VNU, as well as those participating in exchange programs at VNU. Entries may be submitted individually or in teams of up to 05 members, with each team required to include at least one international student.

Format

- Participants (individuals or teams) create content and upload it on TikTok.

- Entries must use images/videos that align with the contest requirements.

- Entries must be posted publicly on the participant’s TikTok account, include the hashtags #IchooseVietnamIchooseVNU #VNUGlobalConnect2025 #DaihocQuocgiaHaNoi #VNU, and tag the official VNU TikTok channel (@vnu.dhqghn).

- Participants must submit the entry link and complete the registration form via Google Forms.

- Entry languages: Vietnamese, English, or the participant’s native language (with Vietnamese or English subtitles).

Requirements for Entries

Each individual or team may submit up to one entry.

- Entries must present positive content, be culturally appropriate, and respect Vietnamese politics, laws, customs, and traditions. They must not contain reactionary, provocative, or distorted elements, nor negatively affect the image of Vietnam, its people, or VNU.

- Entries should focus on the journey, reasons for choosing, and experiences of international students in Vietnam in general, and at VNU in particular, with emphasis on:

+ Impressions of the education system, academic programs, extracurricular activities, exchange opportunities, academic support, or student clubs at VNU.

+ Memorable experiences during study and exploration in Vietnam.

+ Stories about cultural differences, challenges, or special memories with Vietnamese people - friends, teachers, or local residents - reflecting appreciation of Vietnamese culture and people.

+ Lessons or skills gained while living and studying in Vietnam (e.g., language, culture, communication, lifestyle), and the positive impact of studying at VNU and in Vietnam on career goals or personal development.

+ Advice or experiences international students wish to share with future international peers at VNU, along with messages encouraging them to study, experience, and grow at VNU.

- Participants are fully responsible for the copyright of their entries under Vietnamese law. In cases where copyright violations are identified after the announcement of awards, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke awards and rankings. The Committee bears no liability for disputes regarding copyright.

- By submitting an entry, participants agree to abide by the contest regulations and rules issued by the Organizing Committee.

- The Organizing Committee – Vietnam National University, Hanoi reserves the right to use submitted entries, including images and content, during the International Student Gathering 2025–2026 and for promotional and informational purposes in all forms.

Evaluation & Scoring

- The Organizing Committee will verify that all entries are complete and meet submission criteria. Incomplete or non-compliant entries will be rejected without prior notice.

- Entries will be scored based on total views and interactions. Voting points calculation:

+        1 view = 1 point

+        1 like = 2 points

+        1 save/share/repost = 2 points

Awards

- 01 First Prize: 4,000,000 VND (cash)

- 01 Second Prize: 3,000,000 VND (cash)

- 01 Third Prize: 2,000,000 VND (cash)

- 05 Consolation Prizes: 500,000 VND each (cash)
