Promoting the cooperation with Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF)

April 24, 2012, Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan – VNU President worked with Dr. Lynne McNamara – VEF Executive Director.

VEF is an independent federal agency created by the U.S. Congress and funded annually by the U.S. Government. Its mission is to support Vietnamese undergraduate students and graduate students to study in U.S. universities.
Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan introduced the VNU’s achievements such as strengthening science and technology development, media; organizing the first graduate enrolment of Climate change, by evaluating competence in 2011; providing lots of policies to attract students to join in basic research as giving scholarships, inviting professors, famous scholars to teach and do research… VNU has been striving to establish itself as a leader in Vietnam that trains numerous talented people. Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan hoped that VNU and VEF would conduct cooperating activities more effectively.
On behalf of VEF, Dr. Lynne McNamara claimed that VEF would support VNU through its programs as inviting professors, scholars to teach in Vietnam. Also, VEF creates new opportunities for Vietnamese professors and scholars to do research and study in U.S.
In the meeting, new cooperating opportunities were discussed.
