He emphasized that in recent times, Vietnam–China relations have grown stronger, more substantive, and more comprehensive than ever before, especially after the high-level visits by the leaders of both Parties and States. In this context, exchanges, interactions, and mutual understanding between universities, businesses, and corporations from both countries have become increasingly important and urgent, especially in the field of science and technology.

He emphasized VNU’s desire to implement deeper cooperation with leading global technology companies such as Huawei. At the same time, with the goal of building a modern university town, VNU proposed to establish a joint VNU-Huawei Research Center to be located in VNU town in Hoa Lac.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Meng Gencang expressed his admiration for the role and standing of VNU as a leading university in Vietnam. He affirmed that Huawei is seeking to build a long-term strategic partnership with VNU in the fields of AI, cloud computing, data infrastructure, and the training of human resources in information and communication technology (ICT).

He stated that Huawei always regards education as the foundation of innovation and is ready to accompany VNU on its journey of digital transformation in education, developing advanced AI and ICT training models, and contributing to elevating Vietnam–China educational cooperation to a new level.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in establishing a data center and a joint research center, as well as the idea of setting up a high-tech product showcase center following Huawei’s Da Vinci model in VNU town in Hoa Lac.

In addition, Huawei proposed strengthening programs to support VNU faculty, scientists, and students in ICT research and training, particularly talent development programs such as “Seeds for the Future.”

The meeting between VNU and Huawei not only opened up opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and high-tech human resources training but also affirmed VNU’s pioneering role in connecting universities and global enterprises. This marks an important step toward building an innovation ecosystem in Hoa Lac, contributing to VNU’s goal of becoming a leading knowledge hub in the region, alongside major global technology corporations, for sustainable development.
