VNU and PVcomBank expand comprehensive cooperation in education, finance, and digital transformation

On June 23, 2026, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and Vietnam Public Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PVcomBank) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to leverage each party’s strengths in education and training, scientific research, innovation, digital transformation, and the development of high-quality human resources. The partnership between one of the country’s leading education and research institutions and a pioneering financial organization in digital banking is expected to generate significant benefits for students and staff, while contributing to the advancement of education, science and technology, and the digital economy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVcomBank, emphasized: “For PVcomBank, cooperation in the field of education is not only a strategic direction but also a commitment rooted in our strong belief that investing in knowledge and people is essential to building a foundation for sustainable development. We are confident that the combination of PVcomBank’s financial capability and digital technology platform with VNU’s academic excellence and research resources will create synergistic value, delivering practical benefits to lecturers, students, and staff of both institutions”.

VNU President Bui The Duy shared that 2026 marks the 120th anniversary of VNU’s foundation, opening a new phase of development with higher expectations for education, research, and contributions to the national development. In this context, he emphasized that the signing of the agreement with PVcomBank represents an important step in VNU’s strategy to expand cooperation with reputable partners in the financial sector. He expressed his expectation that the partnership would help enhance governance efficiency, accelerate digital transformation, strengthen university–business connections, and create more opportunities for students to learn, gain practical experience, and develop their careers in the digital era.

Under the agreement, PVcomBank will collaborate with VNU in implementing digital transformation initiatives across various areas, including university governance, academic management, human resource administration, financial management, e-administration, e-invoicing, and shared technology platforms. The two parties will also aim to develop a centralized, integrated, and interoperable data system across VNU, providing a foundation for the development of a Digital university.

In the healthcare sector, electronic medical record solutions and modern management platforms for VNU-affiliated healthcare institutions will be explored and implemented. In the field of education, the OneEdu learning management system, along with digital platforms serving learners and emerging technology applications, will be further enhanced and expanded.

In addition, the two parties will jointly organize training programs and knowledge-sharing activities on digital transformation, data governance, cashless payments, and digital financial solutions. They will also explore investments in and upgrades to technological infrastructure and facilities that support education and research, as well as initiatives promoting the development of a smart university town in Hoa Lac.

In addition to digital transformation, human resource development and the promotion of innovation have been identified as key pillars of the cooperation program between the two parties.

Accordingly, VNU and PVcomBank will jointly organize training courses, seminars, and thematic workshops in areas such as economics, finance, banking, digital technology, artificial intelligence, governance, and innovation. The two institutions will also strengthen expert exchanges, foster knowledge-sharing, and promote the dissemination of practical experience, thereby enhancing the quality of education and the practical capabilities of faculty members, researchers, and staff.

For students, the agreement creates a wide range of opportunities for learning, professional development, and real-world experience through scholarship programs, internships, career guidance initiatives, recruitment opportunities, startup support programs, and skills development activities. The active involvement of the business sector in the educational process is expected to strengthen the alignment between academic training and the changing needs of the labor market.
