As a partner of nearly 30 leading Chinese universities, VNU, through its members and affiliates, has implemented many cooperative activities with Chinese universities and institutes in training, scientific research and technology transfer.
Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Le Quan shared that strengthening internationalization was a key task in VNU's development strategy. Therefore, VNU wishes to establish cooperative relationships with leading corporations and enterprises from Vietnam and worldwide, including Chinese partners. He also emphasized that in the context that China and Vietnam were strongly promoting practical and effective cooperation, VNU and Xiamen University would have more opportunities to exchange and cooperate to promote their roles and positions as the leading university in each country.
VNU President Le Quan proposed that in the coming time, in addition to developing cooperative activities in training and research in traditional fields and cultural exchange, the two universities focus on a number of other areas such as medicine (Chinese medicine) and advanced technology industries. He also wished that, together with student exchanges, the two sides would co-organize scientific conferences, share experiences in connecting businesses, attracting resources for development and international integration, and exchange officials and scientists.
The cooperation agreement between VNU and Xiamen University will contribute to strengthening cooperation and exchange in education, academic exchange, and exchange of officials, lecturers and students between the two universities. In the coming time, the two sides will promote the establishment of a cultural exchange centre between VNU and Xiamen University, cooperate in key subject areas of Southeast Asian Studies, and expand cooperation in the two sides’ areas of strength, especially science, technology, innovation, and cooperation programs under the Vietnam - China Cooperation Protocol. The leaders of VNU and Xiamen University believe that the establishment of cooperation will also create opportunities for the two sides to share experiences in internationalization strategies, strategies to attract resources and investments for developing advanced educational institutions.
