A total of nine Vietnamese higher education institutions feature in the Best Global Universities Rankings 2024-2025, recently released by News & World Report of the United States.
The local education establishments which made this year’s list are Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), Duy Tan University in Da Nang, Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National University-HCMC, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University in HCMC, Hue University, HCMC University of Technology, and Can Tho University.
The latest rankings come after Best Global Universities rated a total of 2,250 universities across 104 countries and territories worldwide.
Regarding the methodology in judging the higher education institutions, the list assesses universities according to 13 indicators, focusing on research reputation, through surveys, and research quality through data analysis published in the Clarivate Analytics InCites database.
Previously, on June 5, 2024, Quacquarelli Symonds released the edition of the QS World University Rankings 2025 (QS WUR 2025). Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) rose remarkably to feature in Group 851-900 world’s best higher education institutions (previously, in Group 951-1000).
Nine Vietnamese universities are listed in the Best Global Universities Rankings
This year's ranking results had a great contribution from VNU graduate employability, with Employment Outcomes ranked 202nd and Employer Reputation ranked 472nd globally.
According to the QS WUR 2025 ranking criteria, VNU was highly appreciated by employers with its Employer Reputation (ranked 472nd globally with 18.7 points) and Employment Outcomes (ranked 202nd globally with 60.1 points, up 49.3 points compared to the previous ranking). Notably, the Employment Outcomes rose remarkably to 202nd position (the highest rank in Vietnam) - an increase of 197 places compared to the previous ranking, demonstrating VNU's position in terms of its graduate employability quality.
