VNU, BRG Group, and SeABank: Connecting resources and intelligence to boost research, innovation, knowledge transfer, and technology development

On September 19, 2025, in Hoa Lac, Chairman of the Council and President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Hoang Minh Son, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of BRG Group Joint Stock Company (BRG) Nguyen Thi Nga and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank) Le Van Tan signed a tripartite cooperation agreement.

The event marks an important milestone in advancing the Three Parties” model, strengthening the linkage between the nation’s leading higher education institution, one of Vietnam’s most powerful private economic groups with international prestige, and a leading joint-stock commercial bank in the country.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Huy Dzung, Standing Member of the Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, and Mr. Le Quan, Deputy Minister of Education and Training and former President of VNU.

In recent times, the Politburo has issued a number of important resolutions providing strategic directions for the nation’s development in the new era, such as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on developing the private sector into a major driving force of the economy; and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on the comprehensive development of education and training in the new period.

VNU President Hoang Minh Son emphasized that VNU has been making constant efforts to translate the Party Central Committee’s resolutions into action programs, linking research with the needs of localities and enterprises, expanding technology transfer and commercialization of products, while continuing to develop high-quality training programs in such key areas as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, big data, biomedicine, new materials, and digital economy.

The “Three Parties” model: the State – Universities - Enterprises, with the aim of strengthening commercialization and transfer of scientific and technological values and products, has been actively implemented by VNU in recent years, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the country. VNU has been carrying out numerous cooperation activities and agreements related to the objectives of  Resolution No. 57, with domestic and international partners, including LG Display (Korea), Pegatron Technology (Taiwan, China), Goertek Technology (China), Sungroup (Vietnam), CT Group (Vietnam), among others.

Built on the success of this model, the cooperation between VNU, BRG, and SeABank represents a concrete step toward strengthening the linkage between universities and enterprises, laying a solid foundation for long-term and in-depth collaboration programs. VNU President Hoang Minh Son emphasized that the signing ceremony is a strategic milestone, embodying the spirit of “Companionship – Creativity – Development” in connecting universities with enterprises, knowledge with practice, research with production, and education with the high-quality labor market.

Ms Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairwoman of BRG and Founding Chairwoman of SeABank, expressed her delight in attending the meeting and the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between VNU, BRG, and SeABank. She noted that Vietnam is undergoing a profound transformation in all aspects, with digital transformation being the inevitable path for the country to advance in the new era. According to her, universities and educators will continue to play a leading role in turning the spirit of innovation and creativity into reality. Ms Nga expressed her hope that, through the cooperation among VNU, BRG, and SeABank, the innovative spirit of the university, closely linked with enterprises and the state, will create power to develop projects, products, and services of true value for society.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Dzung emphasized that, in the context of the nation’s strong implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 on the development and application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, one of the consistent and crucial solutions is close collaboration among the Three Parties: the State - Universities - Enterprises. He stressed that this carries even greater significance as it is receiving close attention and high expectations of the Party and State’s top leaders. This is both an encouragement and a responsibility, calling on all the sides to together strive to turn aspirations into reality. In this spirit, he highly valued and firmly believed that the signing of the cooperation agreement among VNU, BRG, and SeABank would yield practical outcomes, contributing to effectively diffusing science, technology, and innovation into the socio-economic life of the country.

Through this cooperation, the parties commit to jointly mobilizing and effectively connecting resources, especially the intellect and dedication of VNU’s team of experts and scientists, together with the practical experience and strategic vision of BRG Group and SeABank to promote research, innovation, knowledge transfer, and technology development, thereby making practical contributions to the nation’s industrialization and modernization.
