Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Hoang Minh Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming and working with the delegation from KIST – an institute regarded as a “symbol of Korea’s success” in innovation and industrialization.
He emphasized that the Party and the State of Vietnam have consistently identified science, technology, education, and training as top national priorities - the foundation and key drivers for sustainable development. In recent years, Vietnam’s Party and State have issued important policies, notably Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development.
In this context, VNU was entrusted with the pioneering mission of training high-quality human resources, advancing science and technology, and promoting innovation - key areas that determine the country’s future development. This is both a great honor and a profound responsibility that VNU is fully aware of and wholeheartedly committed to fulfilling. To realize this noble mission, President Hoang Minh Son stressed that VNU needs the companionship, cooperation, and intellectual exchange of international partners including leading universities and research institutes worldwide to jointly create knowledge, spread values, and make meaningful contributions to the sustainable development of humanity.
VNU President Hoang Minh Son added that VNU is accelerating the development of its university town in Hoa Lac, with the goal of establishing a modern university town that integrates education, research, innovation, and partnerships with enterprises and leading universities both domestically and internationally. He expressed his hope that VNU and KIST would further promote their collaboration, jointly implementing training and research activities at all levels to address major global challenges, particularly those in high-tech and strategic technology fields.
