In the process of internationalizing higher education, VNU identifies the development of international-standard and dual-degree programs as one of the key solutions to enhancing education quality, strengthening degree recognition, and enabling learners to integrate into the global higher education space. On this basis, VNU has gradually expanded programs using foreign languages as media of instructions, joint programs, and dual-degree programs in collaboration with reputable international partners, while closely aligning program development with regional and international accreditation standards.
In the past year, VNU has established and maintained an increasingly extensive network of international cooperation and joint training, with numerous collaborative programs being implemented in a stable manner with reputable partner universities worldwide. International education cooperation activities extend beyond the development of joint programs to include the robust expansion of student and faculty exchange initiatives, co-teaching arrangements, and joint supervision of doctoral dissertations, particularly in STEM - areas that VNU has strategically prioritized for development as regional centers of research and training excellence.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, international joint training programs and partnerships at VNU continued to be implemented in a stable and well-aligned manner. Currently, VNU is implementing 19 international joint training programs across six training units, comprising nine bachelor’s programs and ten master’s programs.
All partners involved in joint training with VNU are duly licensed higher education institutions that have undergone accreditation and ranking processes, possess strong academic reputations, and have many years of experience in collaboration with VNU’s member institutions. VNU’s joint training programs are accredited or evaluated by competent education authorities and organizations in the partner countries, ensuring both the quality of training and the legal validity of the awarded degrees. Accordingly, graduates of joint training programs are eligible for degree recognition in accordance with their individual preferences and needs, in compliance with current regulations.
In 2025, VNU admitted a total of 1,443 students into joint training programs, including 1,228 undergraduate students and 215 graduate students. Admissions were conducted by the member institutions in full compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU, while also adhering to the admission criteria approved in the respective joint training program proposals.
The systematic, selective, and sustainable development of international cooperation and joint training networks enables VNU to progressively standardize and internationalize its academic programs, expand opportunities for learners to study in multicultural environments, and enhance the academic standing and international integration capacity of the entire VNU system.
