Strengthening a 13-year strategic academic partnership between HSB and UQ BEL

The return of Prof. Andrew Griffiths marks a significant milestone - 13 years of enduring academic friendship and deep international strategic collaboration between Hanoi School of Business and Management (HSB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (UQ BEL), The University of Queensland (UQ).

This visit not only reaffirms the strong strategic ties between the two institutions, but also reflects the long-term commitment and close partnership among scholars and leaders of globally recognized educational organizations. This relationship is exemplified by Prof. Hoang Dinh Phi, Rector of HSB, and Prof. Andrew Griffiths, Executive Dean of UQ BEL.

Notably, Prof. Andrew Griffiths has served not only as an outstanding academic leader but also as a valued member of HSB’s Scientific and Academic Council for over a decade. HSB expresses its deep appreciation for his sustained contributions and dedicated support, especially during the institution’s most challenging periods.

Over the past 13 years, the HSB - UQ BEL partnership has played a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of academic programs, pioneering international credit recognition and transfer, and fostering strong connections among academic communities. Beyond education, the collaboration has expanded into interdisciplinary research, particularly in integrated business management and non-traditional security areas, including water, environmental, cyber, and economic security.

In addition, both sides discussed new directions to further deepen cooperation in executive education, joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and the development of innovative training programs aligned with global standards. The two institutions also emphasized the importance of strengthening industry engagement and promoting practical learning models to better prepare students for the rapidly changing global economy. These efforts are expected to create new opportunities for academic mobility, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research projects in the coming years.

The University of Queensland is consistently ranked among the Top 42 universities globally (QS World University Rankings) and is a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (G8). HSB’s sustained partnership with such a distinguished institution clearly demonstrates its strong commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.

Looking ahead, HSB and UQ will continue to move forward together not only in cooperation but also in striving for excellence in global education and innovation, contributing to sustainable values for both education and society.
