Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, former VNU Vice President, founder of JSAMD said that, on June 23, JSAMD was listed by SCImago among the most prestigious journals of science (list of Q1 journals) in Composite Materials and Magnetic, Electronic and Optical Materials. JSAMD was also featured among Q2 journals in Materials Science and Biomaterials.
Thus, this is the first time a Vietnamese scientific journal has been listed in the top 25% of the most prestigious scientific journals.
The 2020 Impact Factor (for 2019 results) of JSAMD - IF= 3.783, recently announced by Web of Science – Clarivate, was one of the factors for upgrading JSAMD.
JSAMD, a collaborative scientific journal between VNU and Elsevier Publishing House (Netherlands), published its first issue in March 2016.
In July 2017, this journal was accepted into ISI's group of emerging journals (ESCI - Emerging Sources Citation Index) and was considered for the Scopus list in April 2018.
In December 2019, JSAMD was selected by Clarivate Analytics Group to officially feature in the SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) scientific citation index list of Web of Science. With this event, JSAMD became the first and only (so far) Vietnamese scientific journal to feature in the world's most prestigious SCIE list.
“Thus, after more than 4 years of its establishment, JSAMD has obtained a full set of its first ‘medals’ including an SCIE, SCOPUS journal; Web of Science IF: 3.78; Scopus IF: 5.8; an SCImago ranking Q1 journal", said Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc.
