This is the publication of the research team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan, Deputy Head of the Department of Physics and Director of the High-efficiency Calculation Laboratory of VNU University of Science. Each year, only 12 selected publications are put on the cover of Biochemistry.
The fact that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan - the main author of the above-mentioned publication, appears on the cover of Biochemistry is an honour not only for the research team, for VNU University of Science but also for Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Sharing on the research that has just been published in Biochemistry, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen The Toan said that the team's research related to zinc-finger structure, which is very popular in DNA-binding proteins and used in gene therapy biotechnology.
The research highlights an exception to the available knowledge. It is known that the genetic sequence determines the structure and function of proteins. However, in the sequence, which the team investigated, the two zinc-finger structures share the same amino acid sequence and bind to the same DNA gene sequence but have different structures.
Biochemistry (journal) of the American Chemistry Society is a prestigious journal in Multidisciplinary Research. It is included in Vietnam NAFOSTED’s list of prestigious ISI international journals. Each year, Biochemistry selects only 12 publications to put on its cover.
