VNU HUS and Lunghwa University of Science and Technology: Establishing cooperation in exchange programs, training, and scientific research

Recently, VNU University of Science hosted a delegation from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Taiwan (China), led by Director Prof. Tzu-Hsiang Ko. The visit aimed to promote the establishment of a cooperative relationship between the two higher education institutions, opening up prospects for developing exchange programs, training, and scientific research collaboration in the near future.

During the meeting, Prof. Le Thanh Son, Rector of VNU-HUS, expressed his pleasure at welcoming the delegation and affirmed the university’s commitment to expanding its international cooperation network, especially with institutions that share similar strengths. Prof. Le Thanh Son emphasized the great cooperation potential between the two institutions, particularly in key fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Environmental Science—areas where both universities have strengths.

Director Tzu-Hsiang Ko of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology introduced an overview of the school’s training and research activities. He shared the university’s strengths in training linked closely with solving real-world problems faced by enterprises. The professor expressed his wish for both sides to promote student exchanges so that students from VNU-HUS will have opportunities to participate in internships and practical projects. Additionally, he proposed establishing specific cooperation programs such as the 2+2 joint training model, dual-degree programs at the bachelor’s level, and 1+1 models for postgraduate education. Notably, Prof. Ko highlighted the availability of full scholarship opportunities funded by Taiwanese companies, with signed commitments for employment after graduation—these are promising opportunities for Vietnamese students to develop their expertise and accumulate practical experience in an international environment.

Beyond long-term training programs, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology also presented various short-term programs for international students, where participants can undertake research under the guidance of professors and experts in their respective fields. Some notable programs include a big data analysis training course for Mathematics students and a semiconductor technology course lasting one semester for Physics and Chemistry students.

Assoc. Prof. Ngạc An Bang, Vice-Rector of VNU-HUS, highly appreciated the partner’s sharing and mentioned that VNU-HUS currently maintains many effective collaborations with leading higher education institutions in Taiwan. Many VNU-HUS students have participated in training, exchange, and research programs there. Therefore, the university hopes to implement substantial and sustainable cooperative projects with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology through activities such as student exchanges, co-supervised research, and joint development of scientific projects.

In the coming month, VNU-HUS will send a delegation of 20 students to study and experience at Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan, for 10 days. During this visit, Prof. Tzu-Hsiang Ko warmly invited the student delegation to visit the university. VNU-HUS representatives gratefully accepted the invitation and will strive to arrange a suitable schedule to realize this goodwill proposal.
