The year 2025 marked a particularly significant stage in the development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). Through the successful organization of numerous major political events, VNU reinforced its commitment to comprehensive reform and its pioneering role within Vietnam’s higher education system.

On July 17–18, 2025, the VNU Party Committee held its 7th Congress for the 2025–2030 term under the theme “Innovation – National Responsibility – Breakthrough Development.” The Congress took place amid the country’s accelerated digital transformation and deepening international integration. In this context, VNU cadres, party members, scientists, lecturers, and students expressed strong confidence in the Party’s leadership and affirmed their determination to develop VNU into a world-class innovative university. The Congress outlined key objectives, including mobilizing and effectively utilizing resources, enhancing the quality of education, research, and innovation, and producing high-value intellectual outputs to contribute substantively to national development.
Following this, on September 28–29, 2025, the 7th Congress of the VNU Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2025–2030 term was convened to recognize outstanding achievements in youth movements and Union activities. The Youth Union fostered comprehensive development for its members along four core pillars: character, vision, competence, and skills. Scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship initiatives maintained a leading position among universities nationwide, while volunteer and social welfare activities widely promoted the spirit of responsibility among VNU youth. The Congress set the direction for the new term with the motto: “VNU Youth – Pioneering Action, Innovation, Comprehensive Development,” emphasizing digital capacity, foreign language proficiency, integration skills, and expanded international exchange.

On October 1, 2025, the 6th VNU Patriotic Emulation Congress for 2025–2030 reviewed emulation movements during the 2020–2025 period. These initiatives were widely disseminated, inspiring solidarity, responsibility, and creativity among nearly 60,000 officials, employees, and students. In the new phase, VNU will focus on developing an elite intellectual workforce while leading in the fulfillment of social responsibilities.
Concluding the year, on December 8–9, 2025, the 7th VNU Trade Union Congress for the 2025–2030 term was solemnly held, reaffirming the Union’s role as a key supporting pillar for staff, educators, and employees. The Congress strengthened unity, built consensus, and promoted creative emulation movements, supporting VNU’s sustainable development in the new period.
