The newly appointed VNU Vice President Nguyen Hieu, born on March 13, 1976 in Trinh Xa commune, Binh Luc district, Phu Ly City (now), Ha Nam province; a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography in 1996, a Master’s degree in Geomorphology and Paleogeography in 2002, and a PhD in Geomorphology and Paleogeography in 2008 from VNU University of Science; a fluent English speaker; and a diploma holder in advanced political theory, was appointed as associate professor in 2011.
New Vice President Nguyen Hieu has held the following leadership and management positions: Deputy Head of the Geomorphology-Geography and Marine Environment Department, Vice Dean of the Geography Faculty – VNU University of Science; Deputy Secretary, Secretary of VNU Office and Department Party Committee; Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organization Department of VNU Party Committee, Director of VNU Organization-Personnel Department; Secretary of VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities Party Committee, among others.
Currently, VNU has 3 Vice Presidents, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu.
