For the first time, students graduate from this program will receive double degrees issued by VNU and one of the two French universities of Claude Bernard de Lyon 1 or La Rochelle.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn – VNU Vice President, Prof. Émile Tanawa – Vice Rector of the Association of Universities of the Francophonie (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie - AUF), Mr. Olivier Garro – Director of AUF Office in Asian-Pacific region, attended the ceremony.
The Master’s program in Information Technology of IFI covers 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits and taught in French. Up to now, IFI has trained 364 graduate students, 70 postgraduate students, 70 doctors of which half of the graduate students got scholarships for postgraduate training in France, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, etc. In the academic year 2012-2013, 65 graduate students from different countries come to study at IFI. The presence of representatives from 15 countries in 4 continents (Asia, Africa, Europe, and America) has affirmed the international level of IFI in training of Masters in Information Technology.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn emphasized that IFI is a prestigious IT training and research institute – an affirmed name for nearly 20 years. Teaching the programs in French will help Vietnamese students improve their foreign language ability and easily adapt to the international working environment. Remarkably, in this academic year, VNU has entered MoUs on double degree with two famous French universities of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University and La Rochelle University, by which upon graduation, all IFI students of both Master’s programs will be awarded double Master’s degree in Information Technology by VNU and one of the two above-mentioned universities.
VNU Vice President also hoped that IFI will offer an active, friendly and attractive environment, creating a good image for VNU in particular and Vietnam in general.
He reckoned that there exist various difficulties for IFI including enrollment, staff and working conditions. To deal with such difficulties, he urged IFI to promote the propaganda activities. On VNU side, he promised to work with IFI to find out the best solution for the enrollment problem according to the legal framework of Vietnam.
