To optimize the strengths of all the parties in terms of educational resources and industrial practice, and to promote educational and cultural exchange between China and Vietnam while jointly cultivating talents with professional expertise and global vision, after multiple rounds of discussion and exchange on implementing a University-University-Enterprise cooperation model, VNU, Shandong University, and Goertek Vina Technology Co., Ltd. have reached a consensus and signed a cooperation agreement. The three parties aim to establish a long-term, stable, and in-depth partnership, promoting comprehensive collaboration in such areas as human resources training, scientific research, curriculum development, and resources sharing. This cooperation seeks to enhance the influence of all the parties in the fields of education and industry, while also providing intellectual and human resources support for the socio-economic development of both China and Vietnam.
VNU Vice President Dao Thanh Truong emphasized that the signing of the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between VNU, Shandong University, and Goertek reflects a strong commitment to implementing Goertek’s talent localization strategy in Vietnam. With the collaboration of Shandong University, Goertek has developed extensive academic and practical collaborations over the years, enabling students to access cutting-edge ideas and apply their knowledge through such initiatives as the “Goertek Wing” and “Elite Program.” VNU believes that this partnership will contribute to the training of high-quality human resources to meet the growing needs of the industrial sector.

According to the cooperation agreement, VNU, Nanjing University, and Sunwah Group will jointly organize student and faculty exchange programs. Annual short-term student exchange programs will be held, featuring such activities as academic visits, summer courses, and cultural experiences, prioritizing such key areas as natural sciences, information technology, artificial intelligence, and civil engineering. The parties will also coordinate faculty exchange activities for academic sharing and short-term teaching, covering such topics as artificial intelligence, computer science, and environmental sciences.

VNU Vice President Dao Thanh Truong said that VNU took pride in its over 15 years’ sustainable partnership with Sunwah Group. This collaboration has resulted in remarkable milestones, including the establishment of the ULIS-Sunwah Center for Chinese Language Teaching and Research, the ULIS-Jonathan KS Choi Cultural Center, and Support for various academic and student development activities. The signing of the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between VNU, Nanjing University, and Sunwah Group marks a new step forward, opening up multidimensional cooperation opportunities in student and faculty exchange, scientific research, and youth leadership development. Notably, the Nanjing–Sunwah 55 Excellence Fellowship is not only a form of financial support for outstanding students, but also a testament to Sunwah Group’s long-term commitment to education and talent development, marking the 55th anniversary of the group’s operations in Vietnam. VNU is delighted that two of the first three recipients of this prestigious scholarship are VNU students pursuing their Master's degrees at Nanjing University.
