Training Programs
VNU-UMP offers a diverse range of advanced training programs in health sciences, from basic sciences to clinical specializations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
*Undergraduate programs: 6 majors:
- Medicine (6 years)

* Postgraduate programs:
- Master’s Degree Program (24 months) including 12 specializations: Internal Medicine: Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine: Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine: Sports Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Odonto-Stomatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
- Master Program for international students (24 months) including 4 specializations: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
- Residency Programs (36 months) including 13 specializations: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Odonto-Stomatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Resuscitation, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Infectious Diseases and Tropical Diseases.
- Specialist level I Program (24 months) including 5 specializations: Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Emergency Resuscitation, Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology and Odonto-stomatology.
Research, Science and Technology
VNU-UMP aims for the overarching goal of establishing a science, technology, and innovation ecosystem (STI) in the field of health sciences at VNU. This ecosystem includes universities, hospitals, research institutes, and enterprises with an application-oriented approach to meet the STI strategy of VNU, the healthcare sector, and the nation. The focus is on researching, developing, and applying science and technology in interdisciplinary fields such as medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, medical data, and new materials to address practical issues in the healthcare sector.
Key research areas:
- Research and application of high-tech solutions in practical medicine;
- Research and development of healthcare products from Vietnamese medicinal herbs using advanced technologies in pharmacy and the application of clinical pharmacy in personalized treatment;
- Research and development of molecular cellular biotechnology applications in biomedical sciences.
Cooperation & Development
VNU-UMP is an integral part of VNU in fostering connections with a network of health science universities nationwide, across Southeast Asia, and globally. The university has signed and implemented cooperation agreements with more than 41 hospitals and research institutes in Vietnam, as well as 9 pharmaceutical enterprises in the Northern and Central regions. Additionally, the university has signed cooperation agreements with 28 international partners.
