Science, Technology, and Innovation

With the goal of developing into a research-oriented and innovation-driven university, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) actively fosters a culture of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship throughout the institution. The University has implemented various policies to strengthen its scientific and technological capabilities and encourage research activities among faculty members and students. At the same time, UET actively seeks and undertakes scientific and technological projects at different levels to develop key research outputs with significant impact, including nationally recognized products, thereby reinforcing its position and contributing to the advancement of science and technology in Vietnam.

Research outcomes achieved by the University's faculty members and students, including publications in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals as well as reputable international conferences, have increased significantly over the years. In 2025, UET researchers published nearly 600 scientific papers and reports, including 415 papers indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. The majority of these publications appeared in Q1 and Q2 journals, with several papers published in internationally renowned journals ranked among the top 5% in their respective fields.

In 2025, the University had 15 intellectual property applications accepted and was granted 17 patents and utility solutions. An increasing number of the University's scientific and technological products have been successfully applied and transferred to domestic and international partners, demonstrating the practical impact and value of its research and innovation activities.

Development Cooperation

Building on its long-established reputation, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) continues to be a trusted partner for both domestic and international organizations in education, research, and technology transfer.

In education and training, the University currently collaborates with more than 300 domestic enterprises in academic training and internship programs. In 2025, UET continued its partnership with Samsung Electronics of South Korea to implement a high-quality master's-level training program in semiconductors and integrated circuits. The University also strengthened its cooperation with LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. (LGDVH) in delivering specialized training in Advanced Display Technology.

In research and innovation, UET continues to promote the triple-helix collaboration model involving government, academia, and industry. Through this approach, the University has expanded joint research activities and successfully transferred numerous scientific and technological products to leading industry partners, including Viettel, FPT, VNPT Technology, Giao Hang Tiet Kiem (GHTK), Samsung SRV, and others.

Regarding international cooperation, in 2025 UET signed 14 new cooperation agreements and implemented a wide range of collaborative activities with prestigious universities, research institutes, and leading international enterprises. These partnerships focus on strengthening education and research capacity in strategic fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, information technology, robotics, and advanced materials. UET's international partners come from countries and regions including the United States, France, Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan (China). These collaborations have generated substantial benefits for the University's academic programs, student exchange initiatives, and scientific research activities.
