At the invitation of South Korea’s President Lee Jae Myung and his spouse, Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse accompanied by a Vietnamese high-ranking delegation will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea from August 10 to 13, 2025.
The visit takes place in the context of Vietnam and South Korea maintaining strong relations across all channels - Party, Government, and National Assembly. Various high-level exchanges continue to be conducted, which constantly strengthens mutual political trust.

As part of VNU’s strategy for development and internationalization, VNU’s leadership has consistently promoted deep, substantive cooperation with Korean partners. In recent years, VNU has engaged in extensive collaboration in training and scientific research with leading Korean universities, such as Seoul National University, and high-tech corporations including Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK, etc. Graduates from VNU’s science, technology, and engineering programs are highly regarded and have been recruited into key positions at Korean technology and industrial corporations in Vietnam. These vivid examples of the cooperation between VNU and Korean educational institutions and corporations serve as a model for high-quality, demand-driven human resource training to contribute to the economic and scientific-technical development of both countries.
During the working visit to Korea, VNU President Le Quan and VNU’s delegation will visit and work with leading Korean educational institutions and enterprises, with the aim of strengthening cooperation in training and research, as well as contributing to the enhancement of the Vietnam–Korea partnership.

As scheduled, on August 11, VNU President Le Quan and his delegation will hold a working session with LG Group. The two sides will discuss the establishment of a research center of LG Display Vietnam Co., Ltd. at VNU’s Hoa Lac Campus. They will also address cooperation in talent training, scholarship programs, and joint research activities.
Later on, on August 12, VNU President Le Quan will visit and work with Sungkyunkwan University. During the visit, the leaders of the two universities will sign a cooperation agreement. Under this agreement, VNU and Sungkyunkwan University will encourage and promote joint cooperation activities in education and training, scientific and technological research, and the exchange of faculty, staff, and students. The signing of this agreement reaffirms VNU’s commitment to expanding international cooperation and enhancing its prestige and position on the regional and global higher education landscape.
